Spain-UK-Spain Moves
We have been carrying out house removals to and from the UK since the early 1980's. Consignments can be collected from anywhere within Andalucia and placed into storage until the next available truck. We also collect loads en route to the UK from places such as the Algarve, Murcia, Alicante, Madrid and Barcelona and if you're moving from the UK to Spain you can rely on the Britannia network to ensure a stress free move.

European removals
If you're looking to transport your goods to another European destination we offer a variety of solutions:

• Courier service
  Ideal for small loads of up to 8 standard cartons or one cubic metre. We have special arrangements with leading couriers and can collect, pack and label your items. Delivery is normally within 5 working days. Not the most economical option but very quick.

• Pallet transport
  For consignments not exceeding two cubic metres or 14 standard boxes per pallet. Items must be able to fit either on a Europallet(120x80 cms) or a standard pallet(120x100 cms). We handle the collection, pack the items if required, shrink wrap and cardboard the load. Delivery is to kerbside only.

• Part load removal
  The removal truck is loaded with consignments belonging to different clients. These loads have to be distributed en route. Delivery dates are only approximate.

• Full load
  For large consignments that warrant a dedicated truck load. The client has more control over the whole moving process and needn't be concerned about space sharing.

Because every customer is different we have options to suit every budget and every need. For example, when it comes to wrapping furniture the client can choose between:
 
A) Full export wrap for maximum protection
This includes us wrapping furniture in laminated bubble wrap and double coated clear bubble wrap depending on the item in question. Mattresses are placed in strong protective bags and fabrics are protected with bubble wrap to prevent dirt marks. Unlike others, we don't class wrapping furniture in van blankets and then using tape to secure them as export wrapping.
 
B) Van blanket wrap to keep the costs down
This is the ideal solution if the customer is on a budget or feels the furniture is protected well enough with our van blankets. Individual items that require special attention can always be export wrapped by our crew for an additional charge. This option isn't available on all European destinations.

Why do estimates vary so much in price?
When receiving quotations from different companies you should carefully examine what is included in the estimate. Misleading adverts together with client unawareness can lead to undesirable outcomes. Here are some points to consider:

• Have you received a written quotation?
  If you've only asked for a rough price over the telephone and not obtained anything in writing, you could be exposed to "unexpected" charges on delivery. If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is. You should never agree to a verbal contract.

• Does it include professional packing & materials?
  Quality packing materials along with the time required to carefully wrap and pack full households significantly contribute to the overall cost of a move and shouldn't be ignored. You need to ask the removal company how your furniture is going to be wrapped, with blankets? with thin bubble wrap? with laminated bubble wrap?

• Have you been offered adequate insurance cover?
  If a company offers you free insurance it will certainly only be transit insurance. This won't cover you for breakages, damages or missing items during loading and unloading. Britannia Southern can provide an "All Risk" cover subject to the client completing a proposal form. Insurance is calculated as a percentage of the declared value of the goods and is never "free".

• Have you been quoted for a door to door service?
  A frequent way to attract client interest is to advertise the cheapest service on offer(depot to depot). Generally speaking this is a rate per cubic metre and doesn't include packing, boxes, insurance or VAT. There's also a minimum charge that isn't usually mentioned either. The client is expected to take the goods into the mover's depot and collect them at the other end too. You're simply paying for a transport service not a removal.

• Have you been underquoted?
  If you haven't received a binding quotation including a list of the goods to move for a fixed price, you could end up paying more than you were anticipating. Customers shouldn't rely on submitting online estimate forms for accurate quotations, these provide the moving company with limited information. It's very difficult to calculate the total volume of a consignment purely from a client submitted list, especially when the measurements are missing. Premove surveys are much more reliable as the surveyor can visually check the house contents, see what can be dismantled to save space, the packing requirements, items that require special attention and then calculate the overall volume of the goods.
