Terms and Conditions of Storage
 

Overview
The client is obliged to sign a legal contract at our premises, this clearly defines the rights and obligations of both parties. Below is a brief summary of these terms & conditions:

• There is a minimum charge of one container whether you have just one sofa to store or 50 cartons. If your goods only just exceed one container(let's say the dishwasher won't quite fit in), then you'll only be charged for an extra cubic metre. If you've been quoted a price by our surveyor, who has visited your residence and calculated the volume of your goods, you will only get invoiced for the storage containers you were quoted for.

• Our rates are per month unlike most storage companies in the UK that invoice you per week. There is a minimum charge of one month. If you extract your goods within the first 15 days of any of the subsequent months, you will only be charged for half a month. You are required to give seven days notice.

• When placing goods into storage, you are obliged to insure your consignment against flooding, fire and theft. We cannot accept any goods into storage without the client accepting this insurance cover for legal reasons. Our insurance policy has been issued by Mapfre -Spain's leading insurance underwriter-, and can be examined at our offices by prospective clients.

• The depositor must declare to be the legitimate possessor of the given objects, declaring that they are not subject to any court proceedings. The withdrawal of the furniture and other effects will be made only by the holder of the storage contract or an authorized person (in writing), having previously settled all the outstanding accounts.

• The lack of payment in full or in part, of six monthly payments will authorize Britannia Southern to terminate the contract, proceeding to sell the deposited goods, making up for the debt and other expenses with the amounts obtained through the sale of the goods. For this purpose it will be sufficient to convey the notice of overdue payment by whatever means to the depositor at the address that figures in the contract even though the depositor does not live at the address or his whereabouts are unknown.

2012 Storage rates (revised. December)
Each container is invoiced at 50,00 Euros per Month plus 21% I.V.A plus insurance. Handling charges may apply if we are not the carrier collecting/delivering the goods. Monthly charge per container including IVA and insurance comes to 62,00 Euros. For long term storage we offer a special rate of 300 Euros for 6 months (includes IVA and insurance). This rate is subject to certain conditions.

2012 Baggage rates
We also offer our clients an alternative to a full container. This service is aimed at students, golfers and frequent travellers. Our rate for up to one cubic metre(approx. 8 suitcases or 10 golf bags) is 20 Euros + IVA per month. Insurance is calculated at 0,2% of the declared value.
